[Located on the Montour Railroad.]
[Hills Station was laid out in 1871 by John Hill after the Chartiers Valley Branch of the Pennsylvania Railroad was built through the area.  The station was used as a milk shipping depot, since 1830, with Hill eventually laying out the town of 17 dwellings and two stores.  The coal company built hoimes for the miners and their families in ca.1913, on the hill above the original Hills Station, in the area of what is know as Lawrence.  All the homes, except a few, were identical in structure, with no inside pllumbing.]
