Paulton Mine (ca. 1903- ? ),
located 1/2 mile east of Apollo, on the Conemaugh Division of the Pennsylvania Railroad, Paulton, Washington Twp., Westmoreland Co., PA

Paulton Mine The Paulton Mine is underconstruction, ca.1903. Most of the work has been done on the outside, very little progress having been made on the inside. They are installing a new Brazil fan 16 x 4 feet, building a steel tipple, and are making a new opening to their coal field which comprises several thousand acres of the Upper Freeport Coal. They intent to use mining machines of ther puncher type. At present they have two 125 horse power boilers and an air compressor at work.
