Following is a partial list of the miners, mine employees and company store employees that worked the Millwood Shaft Mine, Millwood Shaft / New Derry, Derry Township, Westmoreland Co., PA.   The coal miners names have been researched and complied from various sources by Raymond A. Washlaski, Historian: newspaper obits, newspaper articles, Pennsylvania Bureau of Mines Reports, township histories, and names of coal miners submitted by various people, etc..
The Nationalities listed for various miners, are taken directly from "Report of the Department of Mines of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, PA" as reported for the various years.  Those listed as American, could be either native born or naturalized citizens.

(Killed.   Fatally injured by fall of slate, in the Millwood Mine, June 16, 1902.  Nicol Guiseppe was fatally injured while at work in the Millwood Mine, June 16, by a fall of slate.  Death resulted in twelve hours.  The accident occurred in pillar workings.)
Guiseppe, Villani
(Italian Miner, Pick Miner ca.1901, Millwood Mine, Westmoreland Co., PA, Age 22, single.);
(Killed.  Run over by mine cars, in the Millwood Mine, Feb. 4, 1901.  He was instantly killed.  A driver, started his mule into Guiseppe's room and called to him to hook the mule to the car and start it out.  This he did while the driver was arranging his trip on the entry.  On hearing the mule and wagon coming he went to the mouth of the room to take charge of it and was surprised to find that Guiseppe had been run over.  He had evidently been on the front end of the wagon, and it was supposed that his head struck the roof, which caused him to fall off in front of the mine wagon and it passed over him.)
