| HISTORY: Coal Company Busy at Bolivar Lacolle Needs New Houses for Increasing Number of Miners Bolivar, Oct. 17, 1913. Construction bids are being taken by the Lacolle Coal Company at this place, for 35 houses, to be built on the company's land, the Agnes Coulter farm, south of town. These houses are designed to furnish homes for the miners, more of whom are needed, and who find it difficult to find houses suitable for their use. It is expected that the work of construction will begin as soon as the contract is awarded.
The Fairfield Coal Company has leased from the Pennsylvania
Railroad company a siding, 1,200 feet long, for the use of the mine recently
opened at Lockport. It is expected before many weeks that the mine
will be in active operation. |
