was severly gashed and his leg was broken. He was taken by train to Mercy
Hospital in Pittsburgh the next day, an died of blood poisoning and pneumonia
on January 13, 1909. There was a coroners inquest, at which mostly the mine
personnel and not of the miners in the mine at the time of the accident,
gave testimony. Needless to say, the verdict was accidental and the mine
was found innocent of any fault in the accident.)
