A portion of the U.S.G.S. ca.1904 Elders Ridge, PA 15 min. quad map showing the coal patch town of Iselin, Young Township, Indiana Co., PA   The Elders Ridge Branch of the Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh Railway, climbed an extreme grade to reach the entensive railroad yards in the valley of Harpers Run, below Iselin.   The Iselin Railroad Station was located below the town as well.

The Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh Railway passenger station, located along Harpers Run, below the town of Iselin, PA and the daily passenger train that served the coal patch mining towns on the Elders Ridge Branch Line. The miners houses in Iselin were located on the hill above the railroad station and the mines.

Wreck of a Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh Railway Engine No. 263, ca.1920's, along Harpers Run, at the wye in the Iselin Mines railroad yards.  The Iselin Mine tipple and barn are shown in the background, most of the hill and surrounding area have been washed out in copying the print.

The Iselin Mine tipple and railyard and the Iselin barn on the left.  In the previous photo of the wreck at Iselin Yard, the tipple and stock barn are shown from the opposite direction.

Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburg Railway ETT for the Iselin Branches.

Fulton Run Branch-Bridge S-O-22: Heaviest class allowed is X and V not to exceed ten (10) miles per hour. Engines must not be double headed over Bridge S-O-22. Wrecking cranes must not exceed speed of ten (10) miles per hour.

Iselin Wye: In turning engines go into south leg, account of sharp curvature on north leg.

Jacksonville Branch-Bridge U-3-01: Safe for Class WW, Y or Z engines at a speed of twenty (20) miles per hour. Wrecking cranes must not exceed ten (10) miles per hour. Safe for Class L.L. Engines at speed of ten (15) miles per hour.
