the mine entrance was on the west side of the Conamaugh River, just
upriver from Bairdstown, and the old US Rt. 22 Blairsville bridge, down
river from Cokeville, near Bairdstown, Derry Twp., Westmoreland Co.,
PA. The coal loading railroad tipple was on the east side of the
Conemaugh River in Indiana County, connected to the Burrell No.
3 Mine on the west side of the Conemaugh River in Derry Township,
Westmoreland County by a trestle bridge across the Conemaugh River.
[Burrell No. 3 Mine may be the same mine as Maher No. 3 Mine. Burrell
No. 3 Mine is noted on several maps, but notation could be in error, and
it should have been Maher No. 3 Mine.]
