[A small bank of the coke ovens had been restored many years ago in
the Westmoreland County, Mammoth County Park as a Memorial to the coal miners
that worked the Magee Coke Works Mine, and a few mine cars were on display,
as a memorial to the miners & coke workers of the Magee Coke Works. This
memorial was destroyed in ca.2007 by the Westmoreland County Parks Dept.
because it needed some upkeep. Another example that the management of
the Westmoreland County Parks Dept. don't give a damn about the history of
coal mining in Westmoreland and the coal miners that worked these mines.]
