Following is a partial list of the miners, mine employees and company store employees that worked the Hutchinson Mine, Hutchinson, Sewickley Twp, Westmoreland Co., PA.  The miners names have been complied from various sources by Raymond A. Washlaski, Historian: newspaper articles, newspaper obits, Pennsylvania Bureau of Mines Reports, township histories, and names of miners submitted by various people.
The Nationalities listed for various miners, are taken directly from "Report of the Department of Mines of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, PA" as reported for the various years.  Those listed as American, could be either native born or naturalized citizens.

(In 1958, Frank Teacher, nephew of Frederick Potocher, was killed in a roof fall in Hutchinson Mine.  He was working alone, on a mining machine.  Half of the roof in his room fell on him.  Other miners near his work area heard him yelling for help, then the rest of the roof fell, killing him.  Frederick Potocher was called at home and told of the accident, and his nephew.  He became hysterical and ran to the mine, he tried to start a joy loader to dig Frank out, but it was too late.)

Alex Halahurich, son of Alex Halahurich Sr. who was a miner, told us this story.
His father, Alex Halahurich, Sr.,  had worked in the Hutchison Mine for 40 years. He had a habit of looking at the ceiling as he walked out of the mine after his 2:00 - 10:00 shift. He was the last one in the group of miners as they left the mine. He noticed a place in the ceiling that looked like it was loose and he stopped to look at it. Just as he did the ceiling caved in and he was the only miner killed when leaving his work place.
