The H.C. Frick Coke Company Ralph Mines Baseball Team of 1925.  The team played in the Frick Company Baseball League. The photo was probably taken at the H.C. Frick Coke Company Annual Picnic at Idlewild Park. Special trains were used to transport the miners and their families to Idlewild Park from the Coal Patches in Westmoreland and Fayette Counties.

The H.C. Frick Coke Company Ralph Mines Baseball Team of 1926.  Photo was taken during the H.C. Frick Coke Company Annual Picnic at Idlewild Park.  The teams played in the highly competitive Frick Company Baseball League.  Mine superintendents would go to extreme lengths to field a winning baseball team.  If you were a good baseball player, you could just about write your own ticket as far as work was concerned in the mines.  About the only requirement was to show up around the mine occasionally.
