Verotsoko, John Frank

(His full name was John Frank Verostko and he worked (when work was available)
up until the Central Mine closed after the World War II. He began working
at the age of 12 separating slate from the coal on the tipple before it was
hauled. He dug coal with a pick also, probably before he became a hauler.
He had his own mule. He also played a violin and a clarinet, marched
in the Mt Pleasant Band and wanted to be a musician but he had to work to
raise the family as his father had died when he was an infant.)
