| In the Report of the Bureau of Mines for
1900, Ayers Hollow Mine is described as a new opening in connection with
Penn Gas No. 4 Mine and is located about midway between Scott Haven and Suter
Station on the line of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad. A new tipple
has been erected and machinery of the latest improved type is being placed
in position to haul caol from the mine workings tothe surface.
Improvements made by the Lake Shore Gas Coal Company in 1908 to Ayers Hollow Mine included the installation of one Yough pump, driven by a Westinghouse 15, H. P. motor. |
