HISTORY:
The Idlewood Mine, ca.1908.  The Idlewood Mine entrance went beneath Morange Road on a northeasterly heading between presentday Canevin Catholic Hisgh School and St. Paul's Seminary.  The tipple and coal yard were located along Idlewood Road at the current location Canevin's athletic field.  The mine workings extended to the east beneath Rook and northeast into Greentree along Mansfield Ave., essentially undermining the area now occupied by the Greentree Sportsplex, the Radisson Hotel and the Ramada Inn.
